In many ways, Aotearoa New Zealand is paradise on earth. Pristine glacial streams running down snow-dusted mountains. Crystal blue rivers and picturesque coastlines. Lush native forests and volcanic plateaus. Rolling green farmland dotted with colourful beehives and free-ranging sheep and cattle. It’s the stuff postcards are made of.

But we all know there’s another side to this story. Our glaciers are disappearing. Our streams and rivers are dirty. Our ocean’s being depleted. Our native species are under threat. Our farmland is being pushed to the limit. And our climate is changing. In many ways, Te Taiao is unwell.
